Jeremy A. MacMahon, Phd

jmacmahon@intertox.com

Scientist

Jeremy MacMahon joined Intertox in August 2024 as a staff scientist. His work has primarily focused on providing industry and litigation support related to dermal exposures to chemicals in textiles and airborne environmental exposure to mold and bacteria.

Expertise:

Dr. MacMahon's expertise includes:

  • Conducting risk assessments for airborne and surface exposures to various mold and bacteria.
  • Pharmacokinetic modeling of ethanol metabolism and intoxication.
  • Creating complex large-scale databases to analyze, model, and present data effectively.
  • Communicating complex scientific ideas to diverse populations.

As a science communicator, he has published a number of non-refereed  articles tackling difficult scientific ideas across toxicology with  topics including COVID-19, environmental exposures from natural gas,  military burn pits, and shellfish consumption, and tattoo toxicity.  These articles focused on communicating comprehensive analysis of events  with serious toxicological implications to groups of people without a  scientific background.

In addition to this work, Mr. MacMahon has conducted research on  anti-epileptogenic and disease modifying drugs used to treat chemically  induced epilepsy. These studies included leveraging animal models to  conduct behavioral, biochemical, in vivo imaging, and  immunohistochemical assays using cutting edge techniques and analysis.  An image from these studies was featured on the cover of the journal  NeuroToxicology, volume 104.

Education and Credentials:
